Our after-school Art Club resumed this month, with our stellar teacher and volunteer Kathy Jones at the helm. The first two weeks have gone beautifully, with many kids eagerly returning after the summer hiatus, and some new faces joining the group as well.
The kids love to come and make art in a gently structured but undemanding setting. All ages and skill levels can find something to enjoy at the Art Club. Kathy always brings not only her passion for all forms of art and her skills as a teacher, but also every week comes up with a new inspiration – a new medium, a new perspective, a new challenge! She gives the children (and their parents) something to explore, a launching pad for their imaginations to take flight and give rise to amazing little artworks.
We love displaying the club’s creations in the library, and it gives the creators a kick to see their artwork up on the wall for all to admire. And they are admired! Come check out their newest creations, and if you have little ones, maybe try bringing them along on a Wednesday at 2pm!
